Impregilo: Gavio bets on Palenzona as president, the stock goes up on the stock exchange

Beniamino gavio, number one of the Tortona group which owns 29,96% of Impregilo, has proposed the candidacy of Fabrizio Palenzona to the presidency of the general contractor. Indeed, according to Gavio, the appointment is "almost done". And today, mid-morning, the company's stock gains more than two points in Piazza Affari.

"I asked Palenzona to join the board and become president," Gavio told Reuters. The reserve, however, has not yet been dissolved.

The hypothesis of Palenzona for the presidency, to fill the seat freed up after the resignation of Massimo Ponzellini, has recently appeared in the press. The 12 July an important appointment is awaited for Impregilo, with theassembly requested by shareholder Salini for the revocation of the current board of directors and the appointment of a new board.

The Salini group - which holds 29,2% of Impregilo - recently published the list of 15 candidates which includes the previously announced Claudio Costamagna for the presidency. Within a few days, the Gavio group could present its plan for Impregilo.
