"The decline in prices continues throughout the country, but cities with more than 250.000 inhabitants and properties for sale in the north of the country help keep this contraction below 1%", explains Guido Lodigiani, corporate director and research office of Immobiliare.it in the note.

In the first half of the year, property prices in the northern regions in fact recorded a 0,1% (-3,6% year-on-year) contraction on a quarterly basis, those in the center by 0,8% (-3,5%) and those in the south by 0,5% (-2,4%).

Again in the semester, prices in cities with over 250.000 inhabitants remained practically unchanged at the economic level (-0,1%) and fell by 3% over the year. In provincial capitals with fewer than 250.000 inhabitants, prices fell by 1,4% over the six months and 3,6% over the year.
