Ima: agreement to acquire 60% of Teknoweb Converting

The multinational based in Bologna has acquired 60% of the newly formed Teknoweb Covering from Teknoweb for a figure of around 6 million euros – The agreement also includes an option to purchase the remaining 40% of the company.

Ima enters Teknoweb Converting with a 60% stake. The multinational company based in Bologna has, in fact, signed an agreement with Teknoweb for entry into the company that operates in the coverting sector, producing and marketing machines for making disposable wet wipes. The cost of the operation is around 6 million euros.

IMA is also granted a purchase option, over a period of time between 2018 and 2024, of the entire stake in the company Teknoweb Converting (corresponding to 40% of the share capital, a share currently owned by Teknoweb), whose pro forma financial statements as at 31 December show a turnover of approximately 12 million euros and an EBITDA of approximately 1,5 million euros.

Satisfied Alberto Vacchi, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of IMA, commented as follows: “This is a strategic operation. The acquisition of the Teknoweb Converting company will in fact make it possible to create significant production and commercial synergies with the ILAPAK Group, which produces packaging machines for primary packaging using flexible material”.
