The Minister of Economic Development, Carlo Calenda, was clear: "It cannot be discussed at the same time on a negotiating table and in the courtroom".
Calenda said he hoped that Governor Emiliano would participate at the table, but only after the withdrawal of the appeal to the Tar, which risks jeopardizing the entire rescue operation and putting a global steel giant like ArcelorMittal to flight.
But for now the tug of war between the minister and the governor continues and the table on Ilva does not open, to the great alarm of workers and unions. “The appeal – Emiliano argued – remains standing until our observations are discussed”.
