Ilva, extended the gas supply

This was decided by the Energy Authority. Without its resolution extending the supply to 31 January 2015, the statutory warranty period would have expired today.

Ilva, extended the gas supply

The Energy Authority has extended the effectiveness of the gas supply for Ilva Spa of Taranto until 31 January 2015, avoiding the interruption otherwise foreseen for today. This was stated in a note from the guarantee body.

"In consideration of the decree law of 24 December 2014 for the development of the Taranto areas with which the Government has adopted measures to manage and restore the situation of the company Ilva Spa, and the indications in this regard advanced by the Minister of Economic Development, given the conditions of necessity and urgency, the Authority immediately implemented the measures necessary to ensure continuity of gas supply to the company”.

In particular, the Authority extended the effectiveness of the so-called default transport service to 31 January 2015 to give continuity to the supply by the transitory supplier, then providing that from 1 February 2015 if Ilva does not find new sellers on the free market, the same transitory supplier can extend the service month by month, identifying the most suitable methods relating to the definition of guarantees for the supply, except that non-payments remain the responsibility of the supplier.
