The settlements of Adriano, Fabio and Nicola Riva were rejected by the investigating magistrate of Milan Maria Vicidomini not only because the proposed penalties were considered too low but also because according to the judge the sum of 1,33 billion that the Riva family agreed to make return to Italy, to be allocated to projects for the rehabilitation and redevelopment of Ilva in Taranto, is in turn considered not appropriate, or rather too low.
The judge for the preliminary investigations therefore held the penalties agreed with the prosecutor's office are too low namely 2 and a half for Adriano, between 4 and 5 years (continuously with an already definitive sentence) for Fabio and about 2 years for Nicola.
