Ilva, Government: "It must be sold by June 2016"

The Government accelerates on the sale of Ilva of Taranto: according to what was established today by the Council of Ministers the operation will be carried out within 7 months. “We have passed a decree law which accelerates the sale of the Ilva group business complexes to third parties. The decree-law sets June 30, 2016 as the deadline for the completion of the transfer operation to a new corporate structure for a stable future of Ilva”: this is the announcement by Claudio De Vincenti, undersecretary to the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, at the end of the CDM that it has ordered "an allocation of 300 million that facilitates the transition process" in the assignment.

"The environmental question remains a decisive element in the rescue of Ilva and the postponement of the deadline for implementing the environmental plan from 4 August to 31 December is due to the fact that the plan presented by the successful tenderer will be able to bring changes to the environmental plan", he said the Minister of the Environment Gian Luca Galletti at the end of the CDM. The changes, he underlines, will take place "with the same procedures as for the formation of the environmental plan".

"We have set the date of June 30 as the deadline for the choice of a private contractor, to arrive at a sale of the assets of the Ilva group today in extraordinary administration, to give an acceleration with respect to a solution for the industrial relaunch of the group", however underlined the Minister of Development Federica Guidi.
