Ilva, Government: Enrico Bondi commissioner

Enrico Bondi will be Ilva's extraordinary commissioner. This was decided by the council of ministers which was held this afternoon at Palazzo Chigi. This was revealed by the Minister for Regional Affairs, Graziano Delrio, underlining that "the final details" of the decree are being defined.

The commissioner will have a maximum duration of 36 months and will be able to make use of two sub-commissioners, one appointed by the Ministry of Development and one by the Ministry of the Environment. As Minister Flavio Zanonato explained today, the provision will make it possible to manage the company by implementing the Hague and all recovery plans.

The commissioner will have all the powers and functions of the company's administrative bodies and, as stated in the draft of the decree, "the exercise of the powers of disposal and management of the owners of the company is suspended, as well as the rights connected to the ownership or to the possession of the quotas or shares".
