The Ministry of Economic Development has announced the extension, for a further 12 months, of the income supplement for Ilva employees at the Genoa Cornigliano plant. The expected deadline was 30 September 2017.

The meeting between Deputy Minister Teresa took place this morning at the Mise Bellanova, the president of the Liguria Region Giovanni All, the regional councilors for economic development Edorado Rixi and at Work Gianni Berrino, the Councilor for Development and Economic Promotion of the Municipality of Genoa, Giancarlo Vinacci.

In particular, the Deputy Minister reiterated the Government's commitment to guarantee the necessary financial resources if those already allocated with the 2017 Budget Law were not sufficient.

The Cornigliano company, controlled by the Municipality and the Region, will continue to finance those works of public utility which are the livelihood of the many workers who, on rotation, are on layoffs waiting for a definitive settlement of the company.

Following the convening of the meeting, the trade unions canceled the demonstration and procession called for next Wednesday 20, maintaining the workers' meeting.

The deputy minister also called a meeting at the Mise on Friday 22 September, at 9.30, for the signing of the agreement.
