Ilva: Bentivogli attacked, commissioner Mazzarano on the run

Tension during the initiative of the Forum association in Massafra (Taranto) on Ilva: the speeches continued, until the councilor of the Puglia region Michele Mazzarano took the floor and repeatedly attacked the trade union organizations during his speech . According to a note from Fim Cisl, “the commissioner was able to conclude the intervention without any interruption. As soon as the general secretary of the Fim Cisl Marco Bentivogli took the floor, however, he left the room in a premeditated way and did not accept to listen to the speech”.

Once he left the room to bring the commissioner back to peaceful discussions - the Cisl metalworkers' union continues - there was also an attempt to attack Bentivogli by a person who had gone out with Mazzarano. The police prevented things from getting worse. Mazzarano had given his word to return and instead preferred to leave. Bentivogli commented as follows: “To environmentalize and save work we must do and not point the finger, forgetting one's responsibilities. Emiliano has never accepted any public confrontation with anyone who thinks differently from him, is used to monologues or chooses who to talk to. Speaking freely without listening to other ideas is not a task suitable for any democrat, much less one who holds institutional positions and should represent all citizens".
