Ilva, Arcelor denies Emiliano: "We won't stay until May"

Stay until May atIlva of Taranto? No it does not. ArceloMittal resoundingly denies Michele Emiliano. The Apulian governor had reported an interview he had with the new CEO of the French-Indian group, Lucia Morselli, stating that the manager had provided him with guarantees "on the intention of continuing to manage" the former Ilva "in the best possible way at least until May". Too bad that, according to sources close to the club, Morselli never said these words.

The news of ArcelorMittal's stay until May it had been released on Wednesday by the president of Confindustria Taranto, Antonio Marinaro, who in turn had been informed by Emiliano.

The information was more than likely, since just yesterday the Court of Milan has established in seven months the discussion on contractual withdrawal requested by the company, without which it is very difficult for ArcelorMittal to leave Taranto.

Meanwhile, union sources let it be known that ArcelorMittal will stop Ilva's "Train tape 26" on 2 November.

As for the government, the minister Stefano Patuanelli, the CEO Morselli and the leaders of the metalworkers Fim, Fiom and Uilm will go on stage at the Ministry of Economic Development on Friday at 15 pm. A garrison of related companies - which claim 50 million credits without which 6.000 employees are at risk - is underway under the headquarters of the Mise. These are companies that adhere to Confindustria Taranto. President Antonio Marinaro will meet Minister Stefano Patuanelli at 14 pm, to whom a document on the Arcelor Mittal affair will be delivered. The same document - reads a note - will be brought to the attention of the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella and the Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte on the same day.

The unions keep their guard up: "If it weren't clear yet, the situation is precipitating into an increasingly dramatic picture that does not allow for further political tactics", he declared Marco Bentivogli, general secretary of the Fim Cisl.
