Iliad's offers seem to appeal to the Italians who are flocking to the French operator who landed in Italy at the end of May.

A success witnessed by the numbers provided by the company: aat the beginning of August Iliad reached 1,5 million customers, recording revenues of 9 million euros. The growth is hard to ignore: at the end of June (and therefore in just one month of activity) there were 635 Italian subscribers. After 50 days the million was reached.

Returning to the accounts, theebitda it was negative 28 million due, Iliad reports, to roaming costs paid to Wind-Tre and advertising expenses relating to the commercial launch and development of the brand. The loss from ordinary activities amounts to 31 million, a figure which includes the amortization expense for the initial components of the network and for the frequencies.

The goal of the French group in our country is to achieve a market share just under 10% out of a total number of SIMs active in Italy of approximately 83 million.

Iliad also presented French numbers. In fixed telephony (the operator is called Free), the company recorded revenues of 1,33 billion (-2,2%), affected by fierce competition from competitors, the increase in VAT and the weight of promotional offers . It's better on the front mobile, where the turnover rose to 1,06 billion (+2,4%).

As for the number of mobile subscribers in France, Iliad has recorded a drop of 70 thousand users compared to the end of 2017, settling at 13,62 million. The number of broadband and ultra-broadband subscribers was also down, down by 6,47 million from 6,52 million.

Overall, the total number of subscribers in France at the end of June was 20,098 million from 20,215 million at the end of 2017. 4G subscribers are 8,4 million, an increase of 1,6 million in 1 year and represent 62% of the mobile subscriber base, with an average consumption of 9,6 Go per subscriber, "ie one of the highest consumption in Europe", up 50% over one year.

Iliad specifies that, thanks to the new commercial approach launched at the beginning of June, which consists in the marketing of new offers on the website, in the launch of a subscriber retention policy and in the intensification of the pace of FTTH migrations, the balance of subscribers "returned positive in the July-August period".

The group's Ebitda in France grew by almost 20 million to 894 million euros, with a margin of 37,3% and investments amounted to 773 million euros.
