The German vote worries the markets: Milan down but Fincantieri booming

Almost all the European price lists are in the red but the Dax defends itself - Piazza Affari loses 0,63% in the wake of Stm, Bper, Banco Bpm and Ferrari - Fincantieri's exploits in view of the Italy-France summit - Saipem, Recordati and Eni – The postponement of the decisions on the Golden power removes suspense for Tim.

On a day full of news, due to the uncertain outcome of the German elections and the intervention of Mario Draghi, it is above all the opening in the red of Wall Street to give a negative boost to the European markets, which closed fractionally lower, with the with the exception of Frankfurt +0,02%. 

Piazza Affari loses 0,63%, 22.389 points, weighted by the banks but also by Stm -3,91% and the Agnelli galaxy. On the other hand, purchases reward oil stocks, in particular Saipem +5,28% and Eni +1,16%, driven by crude oil prices. Brent +2,25%, 57,36 dollars a barrel. In Europe, Athens loses 4,35%, although the excessive deficit proceeding has been closed. Madrid, -0,86%; Paris -0,27; London -0,13%.

At the moment, sales in New York prevail, especially on the Nasdaq, where Tripadvisor sells more than 8%, but Facebook and Netflix are also in sharp decline. Still giving ground Apple, which has lost 6% since September 11, when it presented new devices. Gold is recovering: +0,59%, 1303,68 dollars an ounce.

The euro weakens against the dollar and drops to a three-week low, with the cross at 1,185 (-0,46%). On the secondary side, the yield of the 10-year BTP remains stable, at 2,17%, but the spread with the Bund widens by 3,46%, 176.60 points. The advance of the extreme right in Germany, even if it doesn't affect Angela Merkel's role, can curb plans for greater integration in the Eurozone and the peripherals pay the price. However, the political uncertainty of the leading state could induce the ECB to be more wait-and-see in starting a process of reducing the monetary stimulus. Draghi, speaking to the finance committee of the European Parliament, argues that the European Central Bank cannot afford hasty maneuvers. We are "more confident" that inflation will go towards the targets, but "we know that a very high level of monetary accommodation is still needed". So “we will decide later this year on the recalibration of our instruments”. 

Returning to Piazza Affari: the other stocks with a clear increase are Recordati +1,59%; Ferragamo +1,18%; Italgas +1,02%. At the bottom of the Bper list -2,22%; Banco Bpm -2,4%. Sales in the Agnelli galaxy: Ferrari -2,05%; Exor -1,91%; Fiat -1,99%. Juventus, on the other hand, holds, +0,57%, despite the 300 euro fine imposed by the federal court for unauthorized relationships with organized fans. For the same reasons, Andrea Agnelli was sentenced to a one-year inhibition and a 20.000 euro fine.

Telecom is floating -0,38%, while the meeting at Palazzo Chigi of the committee on golden power, called to assess whether the French Vivendi has violated the rules on transparency regarding the control assumed over the company, has been postponed to tomorrow. Fincantieri +3,5%, with the French media which, citing sources from the Elysée, are inclined towards a solution on the Stx match.
