The Senate on the Statute of companies and tax credit for SMEs

Numerous measures are being examined by Palazzo Madama during the week that concern businesses: from the definition of a new tax base to the Finance Commission, to the energy package and the tax credit for SMEs to the Industry Commission – President Baldassarri is pressing the Government – The Report on Corruption in the Public Administration

The Senate on the Statute of companies and tax credit for SMEs

Company statute, tax credit for small and medium-sized enterprises, energy package, financial education: these are some of the topics that will characterize the work of the Industry commission of Palazzo Madama. The problems related to access to credit for companies, especially medium and small ones, will be examined in depth with the launch of a fact-finding investigation and a large number of hearings, starting with the ABI. Also interesting is the bill to provide "financial education" in high schools, to train young people especially after the recent crashes and financial fraud. An initiative that would then be extended to the so-called "weak" people, with particular reference to the elderly. Also on the agenda is the draft law on the statute of companies and the energy package which contains directives on the gas and electricity market.

In the Finance Committee it will above all be the Community rules that will hold the ground. In particular, the proposal on the corporate tax base for which a resolution is expected by June. The proposal for a directive intends to define the Common Consolidated Corporate Tax Base regime in order to limit the tax obstacles that currently constrain the growth of the single market. The proposal seeks to identify a harmonized equal basis, leaving in any case the determination of the rates within the free discretion of the Member States. In particular, the proposed measures are aimed at obtaining significant savings both in terms of obligations and in monetary terms, for companies that intend to establish their registered office in countries other than those of origin.

But in addition to these issues there are now "mature" measures, that is, examined, discussed and ready to be approved, "but for which - explains the president of the commission, prof. Mario Baldassarrisi is awaiting the Government's pronouncement on the financial coverage, because that indicated in the provision under examination has not been considered positively”. And the draft laws awaiting a response from the Government concern the permanent introduction of the 5 per thousand, the allowance for the accompaniment of war invalids, the reimbursements for credits towards Libya.

The Budget commission will instead be grappling with some opinions. Already this week - anticipates the president Antonio Azzollini, Pdl - the bill for the prevention and repression of corruption and illegality in the public administration and the bill on the autonomy charter will be addressed.
