Design awards gossip – There are many Awards, indeed too many. And then over time they have been extended to many products, with many mentions and consolation recognitions so as not to displease anyone ... 2020, on the occasion of the Salone del Mobile (which does not give any awards) is the year of the most prestigious award in the world , The Compasso d'Oro ADI, which is awarded every two years and which will have a preview on April 18, the day before the opening of the Exhibition, to then have the winners announced in June. The ADI (the Italian industrial design association) is the organizer of this which is, after the Good Design of the Chicago Athaeneum born in 1950, the oldest, but also the n.1 in the world, and the ceremony will take place for the first time in the new headquarters, recently restored, the ADI Design Museum, a spectacular huge space which has always been used as a depot for Milanese trams and as an Enel plant.

And Good Design, founded in 1950, has always been managed by the Chicago Athenaeum while the Design Plus Award was established by Messe Frankfurt together with the Rat für Formgebung (the German ADI) and so on.
