The Prime Minister, Matteo Renzi, accompanied by the President and Chief Executive Officer of Pirelli, Marco Tronchetti Provera, visited the Pirelli Research & Development center at the Milan headquarters, the company's historical site. The visit was attended by Alberto Pirelli, Vice President of Pirelli, Maurizio Boiocchi, General Manager Technology, and Gregorio Borgo, General Manager Operations.

The Pirelli Research & Development center in Milan is the group's main product and process innovation laboratory, flanked by the other 10 centers the company has around the world. The Research & Development area of ​​Pirelli makes use of the professionalism of around 1.400 engineers and specialists worldwide, of which over 400 in the center of Milan, engaged in activity in the group's centers and in the 'open innovation' projects that Pirelli boasts with universities and university research centers all over the world, with suppliers and with Premium car manufacturers in original equipment. Pirelli's concrete commitment to Research & Development is demonstrated by the investments dedicated to it, equal to over 3% of total revenues each year and over 7% of the revenues of the Premium segment on which the company's production is concentrated.
