The emergency continues in Piedmont, the fires don't stop. Situation still critical in the province of Cuneo, where woods and mountains are still covered by flames. In Val di Susa almost 600 people were evacuated, including 200 guests in a rest home. A reception center has been set up in the city which will host more than two hundred people, while a section of the Frejus motorway has been closed.

The fires have been affecting the Val di Susa for eight days now, and the wind of the last two days has aggravated the situation, rekindling the outbreaks and preventing aircraft from intervening. The impossibility of smothering the fires from the sky forced the rescue teams to decide for the evacuation of dozens of villages and hamlets. The most critical area is the one close to Mompantero.

On Sunday afternoon, the Fire Department had counted eleven large-scale fires. The metropolitan area of Turin was indirectly affected by the hardships of the last week. The Piedmontese capital is in a smog emergency.
