Milan didn't turn around, Toro held him back at the San Siro

The Rossoneri did not go beyond a 0-0 draw against Mazzarri's Turin - Both Higuain and Cutrone missed golden opportunities but Donnarumma saved the goal - Milan thus remained in the Champions League zone but wasted the magic moment to make the big leap

Wasted opportunity. Milan didn't go beyond the draw in the postponement against Toro and lost the possibility of bringing third place closer, as well as securing fourth place. Consequences of a two-sided match, with the granata masters in the first part and the Rossoneri in the second: on balance, in short, a draw is the fairest result even if perhaps, by virtue of the chances created by both sides, the 0- 0 appears quite a liar.

“These are matches that can also be lost, we faced a team with quality and strength and I think that, considering the many injuries, it was a good performance – Gattuso analyzes – We were aware of the difficulties we would encounter, unfortunately we are not managed to score but I liked the boys, they showed values”.

Concepts that can be shared in the light of the objective difficulties that the Rossoneri coach has been facing for weeks, yet the sensation of the misstep remains. A victory would probably have turned the season around, making unimaginable goals possible until a few weeks ago, when even thinking about the Champions League seemed like a banal exercise for fans.

Instead, a draw came out of the San Siro wheel that leaves everything as before, for better (the fourth place is still Rossonero) and for worse (the calendar will not always be so favorable). Having said that, it is fair to say that Torino didn't steal anything, on the contrary: if there is a team that approached the match better it was Mazzarri's, stopped only by an amazing Donnarumma (his save from Iago's header Falque defies the laws of physics) and by the imprecision of a Belotti who is now a distant relative of the one who, a couple of years ago, was one of the main objectives of the Chinese Milan.

Now, however, Elliot is in charge and Gattuso appeals to him, aware that, beyond the facade declarations ("I'm not talking about the transfer market, it's a topic that doesn't interest me"), only a winter intervention will allow him to stay competitive to the end. “Ibrahimovic won't arrive – Leonardo said. – From the beginning he had told us that if the Galaxy had fulfilled his requests he would have stayed, they did and therefore he will stay in the USA ”.

Cold shower, a bit like Cutrone's right-foot sensationally hurled out face to face with Sirigu (88'), or Higuain's header saved on the line in full recovery. Milan could have taken off, but instead remain anchored to reality. Which is still pleasant, mind you, but not enough to really relaunch the ambitions of the Rossoneri people.
