Eighteen appointments, first online then in presence to pair great wines with recipes from starred chefs. Mastroberardino: a way to testify to our closeness to the catering sector which is fundamental for us which, more than others, has suffered the consequences of the pandemic.

"Il Gusto nella Sfida", the initiative promoted by the Istituto Grandi Marchi to give a sign of sensitivity and support to the world of catering, is absolutely peaceful and not very antagonistic. From Thursday May 27 are scheduled eighteen online dating that will come broadcast on the various social platforms of the group and which will see the winemakers of the IGM group as protagonists in a nice comparison with as many chefs from different Italian regions.

“In these difficult months – explains Piero Mastroberardino, President of IGM – we have always kept alive relations with the world of catering. However, on our part there was also the desire to do something tangible, to concretely show our closeness to this sector which is fundamental for us and which, more than others, has suffered the consequences of the pandemic. And this is how the idea of ​​"Il Gusto nella Sfida" was born, a project that will experience two distinct moments".

The first phase will start on Thursday 27 May. each winegrower will present one of his wines launching a friendly challenge to a chef, who will relaunch it by proposing a combination with his own recipe. One appointment a week that enthusiasts will be able to follow on the various social networks of the IGM platform (website, Youtube, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter) and which will end in September.

It will start from hereaccording to the second phase of the project, which will take place in presence, with the transition from narration to direct experience. Each of the eighteen chefs involved will organize an evening where guests, in addition to the pairing proposed online, will be able to try a complete menu where the chef's dishes will meet the wines of the producers of the Grandi Marchi group.

The participation of the chefs involved with a high-level dream team which, at the moment, counts starred and crowned names of: Gennaro Esposito (Tower of the Saracen), Filippo Saporito (The Legend of the Friars), Cuttaia Pine (The Sideboard), Davide palluda (At the Enoteca), Vincenzo and Antonio Lebano (Terrace Gallia), Alessandro Lestini (The Cardinal's Inn), Errico recanati (Restaurant Andreina), Matthew Rizzo (The Desco), Happy Sgarra (Casa Sgarra), Stephen Cerveni (Two Doves), Daniel Zazzeri (The Pinewood).

“A way to further strengthen the natural liaison that exists between those who produce wine and those who propose, on a daily basis and with great professionalism, a cuisine capable of enhancing our creations”, Mastroberardino underlines again.

The Grandi Marchi Institute of Italian Wine Quality (www.istitutograndimarchi.it), currently chaired by Piero Mastroberardino, includes eighteen iconic companies, among the most representative of the Belpaese: Alois Lageder, Ambrose and John Folonari estates, Antinori, Argiolas, Ca 'del Bosco, Carpenè Malvolti, Col D'Orcia, Donnafugata, jeman, Lungarotti, Masi, Mastroberardino, Michele make it clear, Pius Caesar, Rivera, Tasca d'Almerita, Tenuta San Guido e Ronchi humans.
