The Mipaaf tender opens a new path for photovoltaics in order to reduce the cost of energy in agriculture. The panels will go on the roofs and will not touch the ground

The Draghi government frees up funds for Agrisolare: a tender from the PNRR to reduce energy spending

Il Agricultural park on farms it is ready to be made. And not just one. The Ministry of Agricultural Policies has published the procedures for submitting applications for access to the construction of photovoltaic systems to be installed on buildings for productive use. A 1,5 billion euro intervention financed with funds from the PNRR and one of the last acts of the Minister Stefano Patuanelli, who had made a commitment to farmers' organizations to facilitate access to contributions. For everything related to the ecological transition, it is also a guarantee from the outgoing government with respect to any changes or rethinking by the government to come.

In detail, the incentive applications they will have to be presented through the portal made available by the GSE from 27 September to 27 October 2022. Meanwhile, the notice contains the methods for building new plants in three fundamental sectors of our economy: agriculture, livestock and agro-industrial. No other sdectors are known. "The measure - explains the Ministry - is included in the mission Green revolution and ecological transition, component of the circular economy and sustainable agriculture".

Parco Agrisolare, 40% of the funds will go to the South

The final objective of the measure is to promote the installation of photovoltaic panels with a new generation capacity 375.000 Kw from solar energy. The roofs of old farmhouses or directional structures will be able to demolish the existing materials, replace them with insulated roofs for installations, they will be able to create automated ventilation or cooling systems and position solar panels with flow and accumulator management systems. From this point of view, the market offers a good range of technologies and equipment. They must be clearly indicated in the projects and in the grant applications.

The resources are intended for the implementation of interventions in the primary agricultural production sector for a share of 1,2 billion euros, while two shares of 150 million euros will go to interventions for the transformation of agricultural and non-agricultural products. It is also known that the benefits for 40% of the total resources will be granted to projects to be implemented in Abruzzo, Basilicata, Calabria, Campania, Molise, Puglia, Sardinia and Sicily. A distribution of resources common to all the measures of the PNRR, where the Draghi government has decided to relaunch investments in the South. Of particular interest in the Agrisolare Park plan is the exclusion of land consumption for new infrastructures.

Among European countries, Italy spends about 20% in agriculture for the energy needed to support the cultivation and marketing of products, moreover increasing in exports. Only France and Germany spend more but they are countries with different energy systems from Italy. The new parks will be able to reduce the gap of these years.
