This morning at 11 the premier Giuseppe Conte presents his new government in the Chamber of Deputies and asks for their trust. Tomorrow will do the same to Senate.
The intervention of the premier will be a peace talk after the tribulated 14 months of the Lega-Cinque Stelle government. Conte will focus on the goal of economic growth but also of the social justice, in a ratio of dialogue with the European Union, on the safety and intelligent management ofimmigration and on constitutional reforms, which will start from cut of MPs to get to one new electoral law more proportional.
In foreign policy, Conte will confirm the Euro-Atlantic loyalty, canceling any Northern League oscillation towards Putin's Russia but also correcting the skids of the new Foreign Minister, Luigi Di Maio, towards China.
After the vote of Camera, where the new majority has all the numbers on its side, Conte will present his second government tomorrow at the Senate, where instead the numbers are tighter, but not to the point of endangering trust.
Subsequently, the Government will complete its inauguration with the always complicated appointment of the deputy ministers and undersecretaries, for which the battle both within the Five Stars and in the Democratic Party is, as usual, quite animated. Conte 2 should be fully booked within the week. Then under with the budget maneuver, which will be the first and major commitment of the new government.
