Il Galata Sea Museum of Genoa inaugurates with a new exhibition space, the "Sala Coeclerici", a project called "Navigare nell'Arte" financially supported by the Coeclerics and by the entrepreneur Paolo Clerici, who with the work of the architect Consuegra - who designed the layout on the top floor, allow the public access to the terrace and the roof garden from where Genoa appears in all its beauty as a city on the sea.

Here a selection of 60 works are exhibited, chosen from the 250 that make up the Mariitima Collection of the Clerici Foundation. A figurative heritage signed by Italian and foreign authors such as:  Adam, Craffonara, De Simone, Klodic, Mohrmann, but also contemporary artists such as Sambury, Locci, Verdone and Bayter.

Each painting tells a story of the sea, of ships, small or large, tireless trampers or the subject of events such as storms, shipwrecks, torpedoes. And inside the ships, the lives of captains, sailors and engineers and their adventures as captains, but also the important role of shipowners.

But there is also the landscape inhabited by ships: i port's portrait  "They are not conventional landscapes”, says campodonico, “they have the taste of rust and coal: it is the interpretative figure of a world that no longer exists, but which has generated the hyper-technological one we know today on the airports”.

It will be possible to consult the historical reconstruction through interactive and digital multimedia stations that will allow you to immerse yourself in events such as the case of the Rex - but also the Columbian, the Ganges or the St. Louis.

While an educational section has been created for the very young audience: “We asked ourselves what a XNUMXst century maritime museum should be like, in the light of the experiences we have also gained in the international arena”, continues Campodonico, and this is the answer: “the integration between paintings, stories, light and sound technology, multimedia. Without forgetting the models, some of which we are exhibiting for the first time, such as that of the cruiser Amalfi”.

Furthermore, the Hall, as well as the entire exhibition itinerary of the Museum, is equipped with an amplification system, to improve listening along the itinerary for the deaf.
