Cybercrime causes 500 billion dollars of damage worldwide

2017 was the worst year for cyber security and 2018 isn't going to be the best. Economic damages for cyber crime have increased fivefold, from just over 100 billion dollars in 2011 to over 500 billion in 2017, when scams, extortion, theft of money and personal data have affected nearly a billion people worldwide, causing private citizens alone to lose an estimated 180 billion dollars (Clusit report). And increasingly at risk are personal data, 25 percent of which will be compromised in 2021, according to an IDC report released in April.

Cyber security is an emergency, but also a rapidly evolving sector and at the same time of strategic importance for the country system. The solutions prepared by companies and institutions are maturing, while an important aid for data defense will come from the GDPR regulation, which imposes strong obligations on the matter from 25 May on companies and the PA.

In order to make an overall sense of the rapid and profound evolutions underway, but also to allow companies to evaluate and seize development opportunities in this sector, the Digital360 group chose to throw Cybersecurity360.it, the first publication of its network and among the very first in Italy to focus on cyber security. It is to direct it Alessandro Longo, also director of Agendadigitale.eu.

“The launch on the market of a magazine entirely dedicated to cybersecurity adds an important piece to the editorial strategy of the Digital360 Group, covering one of the most relevant and critical issues of the ongoing digital transformation” he says Andrea Rangone, CEO of the Digital360 Group.

The goal of Cybersecurity360.it is to clarify key issues of cyber security from a technical or legal point of view: the two souls, technical and legal, are also reflected in the "Esperto Risponde" section, entrusted to the experts of P4I - Partner4Innovation, part of the Digital360 group. Scientific manager of the project is Alessio Pennasilico (P4I), one of the best known and most respected experts in the field of cyber security in Europe. In addition to its own content, the masthead will constitute a hub of cybersecurity content already covered in other group mastheads: the goal is to create reading paths to help reconstruct an overall sense of the risks and solutions that face the cyber security scenario.

The new publication, following cyber security at 360 degrees, aims to allow companies to evaluate and seize development opportunities in this sector.
