2020 was an unforgettable year: "I wish you time" by Elli Michler

STRATEGIZING by Emanuele Sacerdote. Earlier this year I wrote: “We have just entered the new decade that promises to be full of many new adventures and we are leaving behind a decade that marked the beginning of new epochal changes.” My wish for 2020-2030 was Better & Longevity. I believe, with good reason, that the same hope can be proposed again this year by moving everything forward by one year. What happened in 2020 was quite unpredictable and we lived (indeed, we are still living) a historical event in all respects which will have consequences for the near future. A historical event can be defined as a space-time event of great importance, of memorable importance and which can be fully included in the history books for its impact on peoples. This year we have seen deprivation, sacrifice, suffering, insecurity, the impossibility of postponing more closely, and we have learned to appreciate more hope, awareness, tolerance, desires, imagination. Certainly it would have been better not to experience this historic event, but that's how it went and, surely, it was (and will be) a new beginning. Net of all possible forecasts and predictions of change and renewal, I wish all of us that the historic covid19 event will end and that we are given the opportunity to take back our lives.

I wish all of us to actually start a think about a better future. I wish all of us to think big, but more realistically long. Happy 2021-2031

"I wish you time" by Elli Michler (1923-2016)

I don't wish you any gift, I wish you only what most don't have.

I wish you time, for fun and for laughs, if you use it well, you can get something out of it.

I wish you time, for your doing and thinking, not only for yourself but also for giving it to others.

Wish you time, not to rush and run, but time to be happy.

I wish you time, not just to spend it, I wish you time for you to stay:

time to be amazed and time to trust and not just to look at it on the clock.

Wishing you time to count the stars and time to grow, to mature.

Wishing you time, to hope again and to love.

It no longer makes sense to postpone.

Wishing you time to find yourself, to live your every day, your hour as a gift.

I wish you time to forgive as well.

I hope you have time, time for life.
