There is no crisis for low-cost furniture. ikea, despite the crisis, it recorded booming results in 2011 with record net profits, 2,97 billion, +10,3% compared to last year. CEO Mikael Olsson announced that sales have grown in all countries, especially in Russia, China and Poland.

The winning strategy for the Swedish giant, founded by the eccentric Ingvar Feodor Kamprad , was to cut prices despite higher commodity prices. For 2012, 3 billion investments in shops, factories and retail centers are planned. During 2011, 7 new megastores were opened in as many countries. The Dutch-based company is not listed on the stock exchange.
