FDI and R&D bonuses: the annual tax credit rises to 20 million
With the circular n. 13/E published on 27 April, drawn up in agreement with the Ministry of Economic Development, the Revenue Agency provides an update on the instructions to companies intending to take advantage of the tax credit for research and development activities. Among the changes, we note the granting of an additional year to make investments, raising the maximum annual amount of credit that each beneficiary can accrue from 5 to 20 million euro, while the rate increases to 50% and becomes the same for all types of eligible expenses. Furthermore, a factor that should not be underestimated in terms of exports and FDI, the beneficiaries also include resident companies that carry out research and development activities on behalf of non-resident client companies and the expenses relating to all personnel employed in R&D are eligible for irrespective of the qualification and educational qualification of the worker.
