ICE in Brazil for Made in Italy agricultural machinery

It kicked off today in Ribeirao Preto (Brazil) the 2013 edition of the Agrishow exhibition, where the ICE - Agency for the promotion abroad and the internationalization of Italian companies, in collaboration with FederUnacoma (National Federation of Agricultural Machinery Manufacturers) organized, for the fourteenth year, the collective participation of 21 manufacturers of agricultural machinery and equipment and related components.

Brazil is one of the few countries in the world that will be able to meet the global demand for food products in the coming years, thanks to the large portion of land devoted to agriculture (about 388 million hectares). The Brazilian agricultural sector has great growth prospects having already started over the last few years a rapid and growing process of renewal and modernization, also thanks to the high propensity to import foreign technologies. The Agrishow fits into this context, in the period following the harvesting of agricultural products State of São Paulo, where 70% of the production of Brazilian agricultural mechanization is concentrated and is aimed at specialized operators only. Approximately 153.000 sector operators are expected to attend this edition, while there will be 790 exhibitors, not counting those from the various Brazilian states.

Within the ranking relative to the majors supplier countries of “Tractors and tractor parts” Italy ranks among the top ten (with an average share of 6,4%), where our country is the fourth European trading partner after France, Germany and Sweden. Similarly, under the "Agricultural machinery and equipment" sector, Italy is one of Brazil's top ten commercial partners, with a constant increase that has led it to become Brazil's third European partner. In particular, it is important to underline how, rather than finished agricultural machines, it is the parts or appliances of agricultural equipment that represent Italian exports to Brazil in the sector.
