ICBPI: the new organizational structure is underway

The general manager of the Istituto Centrale delle Banche Popolari Italiane SpA Paolo Bertoluzzo initiates a process of reorganization of the organizational structure in order to support its strategic objectives

ICBPI, Istituto Centrale delle Banche Popolari Italiane SpA, under the leadership of Paolo Bertoluzzo who joined the Group as Chief Executive Officer last July, is launching a process of reorganization of the organizational structure in order to support its strategic objectives: putting the customer at the center and ensure excellent service for both its end customers and partner banks, accelerate growth with innovation and product leadership, invest in technology and skills, operating efficiently and quickly. This path continues the directive outlined with the recent entry of the shareholders Advent International, Bain Capital and Clessidra SGR.

To achieve these objectives, ICBPI will adopt an operating model based on a lean and flat customer-oriented structure, divided into four Business Units dedicated to key markets - Issuing, Merchant Services, Payment and Security Services - and three transversal competence centers - Commercial Banks, Operations and Information Technology. In addition, the new model will include support functions with integrated responsibilities – Business Development, Chief Financial Officer area, Chief Administrative Officer area and Corporate & External Affairs.

The organizational review plan simultaneously provides for the entry of five managers of proven ability who will cover key roles within the structure (ICBPI and CartaSi) and who, through experience and leadership, will make a decisive contribution to the Group's development plans. In detail:

• Andrea Mencarini: will take over the leadership of the Issuing Business Unit, after a long and successful experience gained in the Marketing/Sales sector for various banks, including Unicredit and more recently in Banco Popolare as leader for sales and retail marketing;

• Enrico Trovati: will head the Merchant Services Business Unit, after a previous experience in McKinsey and later leading the Internet/Digital and Marketing/Sales activities for Telecom Italia Group companies;

• Giuseppe Dallona: will cover the role of Chief Information Officer, after a long track-record of success gained in the world of financial and payment services, including the recent responsibility of CIO at Poste Italiane and - previously - at UBI Banca;

• Bernardo Mingrone: will assume the position of CFO of ICBPI and CartaSi, following his experiences as CFO for important banking groups, such as Unicredit and MPS, and with a successful past gained in the Investment Banking sector;

• Oliviero Bernardi: will take up the position of Chief Administrative Office r, after having gained numerous successful experiences as HR Director for players operating in the world of financial services, such as more recently Zurich Italia.

Paolo Bertoluzzo, CEO of ICBPI and CartaSi, stated:

“We believe in the future of digital payments and are investing in technology and skills to consolidate our leadership position in an increasingly competitive and changing market.

To make the most of these growth opportunities, guarantee the best service to our customers and accelerate on innovation and digital, we have equipped ourselves with a new, leaner and flatter organization that puts the customer at the centre. The arrival of new colleagues with such great competence, experience and leadership in strategic positions is for me the testimony of a shared path of important investments, which will give a decisive boost to our project".
