Gianmaria Buccellati's treasures become a book

Tuesday 27 March 2018, at 18.30 pm, the charm and elegance of Gianmaria Buccellati's fine goldsmith and jewelery creations are the protagonists of the evening scheduled at The Penthouse Galleria in Milan.

Talking about it will be Rosa Maria Bresciani Buccellati, president of the Gianmaria Buccellati Foundation, Elisa Bortoluzzi Dubach, university professor, consultant in the area of philanthropy and foundations and Paola Venturelli, art historian, museum conservator and teacher of Goldsmith Arts.

The book reconstructs the fascinating artistic and entrepreneurial history of Gianmaria Buccellati also through the memories of those who knew him not only as a brilliant creative and entrepreneur, but also as a sensitive and curious man, giving ample space to his and his father Mario's creations and illustrates a century of history of the goldsmith's art through jewels, goldsmith's and silverware works of the Gianmaria Buccellati Foundation, born from the genius of two of the most significant names on the world goldsmith scene, heirs of the illustrious Italian tradition, which flourished in the Renaissance with Welcome Cellini, one of the greatest artists of all times.

"Listening to Gianmaria Buccellati speak through his creations - says Rosa Maria Bresciani Buccellati - offers the reader an unusual exploration of his art, because alongside the secrets of the technique, the story constantly refers to an interpretation of beauty and founding principles of the creative act . The open dialogue that Gianmaria offers with her works are also an example of lifestyle and work ”.

Following the Renaissance canons that Mario Buccellati, defined by Gabriele d'Annunzio, of whom he was a friend and associate, the "Prince of goldsmiths", created his works, reinterpreting them in an absolutely personal, unique and easily recognizable way. He deserves the credit for having made known the "Buccellati style" capable of becoming a myth of the goldsmith's art, appreciated by the members of the ruling houses, by popes and men of culture.

Gianmaria Buccellati, following in his father's footsteps, was able to look with extreme interest at the various artistic expressions of antiquity, the Renaissance, the Baroque and the Rococo which represent for him an inexhaustible source of inspiration from which to draw motifs and themes to be reworked and apply to the different types of precious artifacts.

An Italian story, which unfolds throughout the twentieth century, of one of the protagonists of Made in Italy, a success of art and technique, of artistic flair and craftsmanship.
