It is the only realistic way to save not the Inpgi but – much more relevant – the pensions of journalists. The transition to INPS will in fact allow journalists to maintain existing pensions but will obviously change the rules for future pensioners who will comply with the rules in force in INPS itself for the employee pension fund, except for what accrued up to 30 June 2022 .
The foresight of the Draghi government fortunately prevailed over the uncertainties of the Inpgi and the trade union representatives of both journalists and publishers, offering a sure guarantee for the pensions of the press with the merger into INPS.
