The jewels of Paris, Christie's super-auction
Important jewels parade at the Parisian auction with the best-known brands: Boivin, Cartier, Chaumet, etc. present two splendid pearl necklaces with an antique second empire clasp, where one is set Ceylon sapphire. The jewel was offered by the Empress Eugenie, wife of Napoleon III, to Mademoiselle Marie Yvonne Gillois, future wife of Prince Alexandre Murat.

Two rings set by Chaumet complete this jewelery box: one is adorned with a sapphire from the prestigious Kashmir mines and belonged to the wife of the 11th Duke of Luynes and Chevreuse, and the other, set with a Burmese ruby, belonged to Of Princess Napoleon Murat.

As a prelude to this exceptional selection from a Parisian private collection, here are Art Deco boxes, compacts and cigarettes from Cartier and Verger Frères. Among the other signatures presented in this sale are Boucheron, Bulgari, Buccellati, Graf , Mauboussin, Tiffany & Co. and Van Cleef & Arpels.
