US data plunges European stock exchanges: Milan -2%

After the disappointing American data, Piazza Affari loses more than 2%: the Popular companies suffer in particular - At 16.15 there is only one stock in the green in the Ftse Mib: it is Yoox, which gains 0,4% - The other European lists are also down : only London holds – Negative opening for Wall Street after the Ism index.

US data plunges European stock exchanges: Milan -2%

Milan further increases its losses: in the mid-afternoon, Piazza Affari loses more than 2%, achieving the worst performance in Europe. The collapse of World Duty Free continues, and the trend has changed for Banca Intesa Sanpaolo, which in the middle of the day was among the few banks to hold up, while shortly after 16 pm it lost more than 1%, still doing better than Banco Popolare (- 6%), Bper (-5%) and Unicredit, over -3%. At 16.15 there is only one stock in the green in the Ftse Mib: it is Yoox, which is gaining 0,4%.

However, the other European stock exchanges also fell sharply, feeling the effects of Wall Street's weakness after the lower-than-expected US macro data, in particular the January ISM index which measures manufacturing activity. Madrid loses 1,8%, Paris 1,26%, Frankfurt 1,22% while London holds and scores -0,22%. Negative opening for Wall Street after the publication of the ISM index which measures the performance of the manufacturing sector in January fell more than expected. The figure is down compared to December, when it stood at 56,5 points.
