Heat emergency: 10 million extra for the cig for construction workers and farmers but with many exclusions

It counts the damage to the North and the South, 10 million for the redundancy fund for extreme climatic events (but not for everyone) and 10 million euros to compensate tourists in Sicily. It is the first response to the bad weather emergency, fires and very high temperatures that has hit Italy: the cabinet yesterday, chaired by Interior Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Antonio Tajani, gave the green light to the decree law for the protection of workers in the event of climate emergency.

It is state of emergency for Sicily, Lombardy, Emilia-Romagna, Veneto and Friuli? Everything is postponed to next week. Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, on an official visit to the US, was unable to preside over the CDM. An appointment too important for our foreign policy to be postponed. And the consequence is the timid response of the rest of the government to the climate emergency.

The redundancy fund for construction or agricultural workers

The provision approved by the CDM, proposed by the Minister of Labor Marina Calderone, intervenes on the matter until the end of 2023 but there would be the intention to make it permanent with the next budget maneuver. How does it work? The ability to access is extended layoffs for the 'building andagriculture in the event of heat waves or violent downpours of bad weather, as happened in recent weeks. In detail, it allows you to request the cig by the hour for construction and agricultural workers, excluding it from the envisaged count (respectively 52 weeks in the mobile two-year period for the ordinary cig in construction and 90 days in the calendar year for the Cisoa in agriculture). For the moment, the resources allocated are 10 million: 8,6 million for the extra cigarette in construction sites and 1,4 million in the fields. However, they remain from the provision excluded different categories: autonomous, freelancers, unemployed workers, seasonal e RIDER.

Faced with the heat emergency, CGIL and UIL asked for more stringent measures up to the blocking of activities if necessary and to review the temperature level from which to trigger the till. There temperature of reference remains the one indicated in the INPS circular, i.e. 35 degrees. But there are exceptions for which it is possible to activate it even below 35 degrees if you work in the sun or if the humidity increases the perceived temperature compared to that detected.

Sicily: 10 million euros also for tourist compensation

At the end of the Council of Ministers, a press conference was held, during which the Minister for Civil Protection Nello Musumeci announced that "Minister Santanchè presented a proposal for tourists who found themselves in Sicily in the most difficult period : there will be 10 million euros for the reimbursement of airline tickets and reservations for those who have been left without coverage. It starts from the day when the Catania airport goes haywire. A special office will be set up.

12 million for the companies of Emilia-Marche-Tuscany

The Council of Ministers has given the green light to an initial allocation of 12 million euro for businesses in Emilia Romagna, Marche and Tuscany affected by the floods of recent weeks. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister Tajani at the press conference at the end of the CDM: “The first 29 operations for 12 million have been approved and another 17 are ready for another 12 million euros, which will be disbursed in the next few days. The investigations are being completed." He then specified that the mechanism for supporting businesses affected by the flood had already started a few weeks ago, finally, he clarified that to decide the funds it is not the Council of Ministers, but Simest.

Cdm, green light to the Sport reform and more autonomy for the great Italian museums

Not just the climate emergency. Among the measures approved by the CDM there are also two measures that concern sports e culture. In particular, it was approved sports reform and the government has given the green light to the preliminary draft decree that it ensures greater autonomy to some big ones museums state.

The provision on sport includes 6 articles: sports work, sports agents, development of sports infrastructures, national register of sports activities, the safety of ski facilities and the final provisions and repeals.

The approved measure, on the proposal of the Minister of Culture Gennaro Sangiuliano, raises by 44 to 60 the number of museums, archaeological parks and other cultural sites with special autonomy.
