Hera: profits and revenues soar in the 9 months

Hera closed the first 9 months of 2019 with revenues up 16,4% to 5,06 billion euro and a ebitda up 5% to 785,8 million euro. Along the same lines theEBIT, which grows by 7,7% to 405,5 million.

THENet income recorded an increase of 12% to 242 million, while the net financial position it settled at 2,74 billion with a multiple of the gross operating profit improving to 2,57 times. Gloperational investments as at 30 September 2019, gross of capital grants, they reached 343,1 million euros, up 15,7% compared to the same period of 2018 and in line with the provisions of the Business Plan.

All the various business areas are pushing the accounts, especially the gas, water and environment sectors. It should also be underlined that the excellent performance of the first 9 months comes thanks to organic growth, but also to external lines.

The company speaks of a performance "better than expected" which "reflects an effective execution of the Business Plan to 2022, having already achieved 42% of the expected growth of 200 million euros in EBITDA, ahead of schedule. Some strategic projects, including M&A projects soon to be concluded, will be represented in the now forthcoming Business Plan to 2023”.

Finally, Hera highlighted the strong increase in energy customers, which reached 2,65 million with a growth rate that more than tripled compared to the historical average.

In addition to the accounts, the company today presented a new gas meter. It's called NexMeter, and in the next 3 years the Bologna-based multiutility will install 300 of them for an investment of 45 million.

NexMeter is a "small computer" equipped with technology capable of offering advanced safety functions, an aspect of fundamental importance in the gas service. "The special monitoring and warning devices it is equipped with allow, in fact, to prevent accidents in numerous conditions, providing greater protection to buildings and citizens, along the lines of the functioning of electrical "life-saving" devices", explains the company.
