Ivy is the first Italian listed company certified by Bureau Veritas for the 'The circular economy. The Bologna-based multiutility obtained the certificate with respect to the standard from the French company - leader in the certification sector AFNOR XP X30-901, to date the main international reference for the implementation of a management system for circular economy projects, explains the Group in a note.

“For our company, the application of the management system envisaged by the AFNOR standard, certified by an authoritative third-party body such as Bureau Veritas, enhances all the efforts made over the years and helps to respond even more efficiently to objective 12 of the Agenda 2030 (Responsible Consumption and Production)," he commented Marcellus Guerrini, central director of corporate services of the Hera Group.

The AFNOR XP X30-901 certification is based on a matrix that weaves the 3 classic dimensions of sustainability (environment, economy, society) with the 7 areas of action of the circular economy (Sustainable procurement, Eco-compatible design, Industrial symbiosis, Economy of services, Responsible consumption, Extension of product useful life, Efficient management of products and materials). 

Ivy has implemented a management system for its projects The circular economy and set up the following three according to this matrix: the "OVE" project to transform the waste vegetable oils collected in the territories into biofuel; the project for the integration of circularity criteria in the procurement area and the project for the reuse of purified wastewater.
