Hera won the Smart City award, the recognition assigned by the experts of Smau Bologna, the event dedicated to technologies, the digital world and innovation. The prize, announced in collaboration with Anci and presented this morning, selects and gives visibility to experiences and projects on the subject of intelligent cities.
The thematic areas in which it was possible to compete ranged from e-government to sustainable mobility, up to smart services for tourism. As far as collection is concerned, the app of the Rifiutologo was awarded, while for waste treatment the selection plants with optical readers and biodigesters won.
In recent years, Hera has invested around 50 million euro in plants dedicated to the valorisation and recovery of waste, to increase the value of separate waste collection and maximize the efforts of citizens. And the heart of this expansion was the application of smart technologies, capable of dealing with waste in an "intelligent" way.
