Based on the latest sustainability report of the Bologna-based multiutility, 695 million went to local suppliers (+10% on an annual basis), generating an employment impact of around 8.400 people

in 2019 Ivy has distributed to workers, shareholders, suppliers, public administration and the local community of the territories in which it operates an economic value of 2,131 billion euros. Of these, 695 million went to local suppliers (a figure up 10% on an annual basis), generating an employment impact of around 8.400 people. The numbers are contained in the sustainability report published on 7 May by the Bologna-based multiutility.

Also last year, EBITDA "shared value" (i.e. deriving from Hera Group activities that respond to the priorities set by the UN Agenda) amounted to 422,5 million euro, up 13% compared to 2018. The result corresponds to 39% of total EBITDA, a percentage in line with the business plan target, which expects to reach 42% in 2023.

Sul employment side, in 2019 96,6% of Hera employees had a permanent contract and 537 new hires.

As far as the investments, those in innovation reached 78 million euros and were mainly focused on smart cities, circular economy, utility 4.0 and customer experience.

Sul environmental front, in 2019 the emissions of the group's waste-to-energy plants were on average 86% lower than the legal limits.

In terms of energy efficiency, compared to 2013, the group's consumption decreased by 5,1% (equal to over 11.700 tonnes of oil equivalent), thus achieving the 5% target set for 2020 a year in advance.

Finally, in 2019 the group increased separate collection, reaching 64,6%, on an area served by 3,2 million inhabitants divided into 187 municipalities in five regions. At the same time, the use of landfills decreased, which stands at 3,4%, against an Italian average of 24% in 2018 (latest data available).
