Hera: new clean energy for the Cesena hub

Hera has signed an agreement with Amadori, a company active in the agri-food sector and specialist in the poultry sector, to create a cogeneration plant that will supply clean energy to the Hera production hub in Cesena.

This efficiency intervention will ensure primary energy savings of approximately 15%, with an overall efficiency in terms of energy conversion of 70%.

The plant has its core in a 900 kW cogeneration plant and will be able to supply - in the form of steam and hot water - various thermal utilities, including the feed transformation and processing processes and the heating of the offices.

The construction, management and maintenance of the infrastructure will be headed by Hera Servizi Energia, which will invest a total of over one million, within the framework of a 10-year agreement (60.000 total operating hours of the cogenerator).

When fully operational, the technological-energy pole will be able to express important environmental performances, avoiding the consumption of approximately 400 tonnes of oil equivalent each year and the emission of 900 tonnes of CO2, equal to the absorption of a year of a forest of 150 hectares.

An environmental benefit that can also be quantified in over 600 less diesel cars in circulation.
