Hera enters into exclusive negotiations with Amga Udine

Hera and the Municipality of Udine, the majority shareholder of the multiutility Amga of Udine, yesterday signed a letter of intent which envisages the exclusive development of the merger project within the next one hundred and twenty days.

“Having received this expression of interest from Hera - explains the mayor of Udine, Furio Honsell - which we considered interesting, we have started the necessary steps to specify the terms of this event. An operation that will require a period not exceeding four months during which a confidentiality and exclusivity agreement has been agreed which binds the municipal administration and Amga not to deal with other companies. At the end of this process, the jointly developed aggregation project will be evaluated and analyzed in the relevant areas. Therefore, only at the end of this period will it be possible to consider the project with greater precision. This interest on the part of Hera is also a demonstration of the appreciation of the work done by the previous and current administrators and by all Amga workers both nationally and internationally”.

“Today an analysis phase is kicking off, exclusively, for the possible aggregation of Amga into the Hera Group. In the event of a positive outcome of the process, the aggregation of the two realities could have positive impacts for all interested parties – explains Tomaso Tommasi di Vignano, Chairman of Hera -. On the one hand, know-how and resources could contribute to strengthening the consolidation process in the area, also with respect to the forthcoming tenders for the gas distribution service, on the other hand, to enhance and expand the presence and skills that characterize the history and the present of Amga”.
