Hera: 100 million for the Green Economy

Ivy invests 100 million euros in Green Economy projects scattered in various northern cities. In particular, the Emilian multi-utility will allocate 16,5 million for green assets in Bologna, 53 in Rimini, 21,5 in Padua, 8 in Ferrara and 4,8 in Ravenna.

At the beginning of the year Hera was rewarded by the EIB with a 110 million loan, money with which half of the 19 projects linked to the waste cycle will be financed.

Among the planned interventions, the plant for the production of biomethane a Sant' Agata Bolognese, which will come into operation within the year and in which the group plans to invest 16,5 million by 2021.

A Rimini, on the other hand, Hera participates in the plan for the protection of bathing. The project is worth a total of 154 million and also involves the Municipality of Rimini, Romagna Acque and Amir. The implementation of 11 structural interventions is foreseen to eliminate the current discharges into the sea, which will make it possible to cancel the bathing bans.

Thanks to Hera, the Municipality of Bologna has taken first place among Italian municipal companies by level of distribution of profits in the last five years, insurvey conducted by Mediobanca.

Also in Rimini, Hera will invest another 10 million by 2021 for the separation of the sewage networks.

A Padova on the other hand, the upgrading of the Ca' Nordio purifier is planned, which will absorb 10,5 million over the plan period. A further 11 million will then be dedicated to the Padua area for the prevention of flooding with the upgrading of the sewage system.

As for Ferrara, among the various interventions on the water-sewerage sector, the restructuring of the Gramicia treatment plant is planned.

Finally, a Ravenna, Hera will invest 4,8 million to improve the capacity of the Lido di Classe treatment plant and cope with the increase in the quantity of wastewater in the summer period.
