The Italian bank is included in the Dow Jones sustainability index, compiled together with the Swiss SAM (investment boutique specializing in sustainable investments): it is among the 342 companies worldwide most committed to the environment and social issues.

Intesa Sanpaolo protagonist of social and environmental sustainability. This is what is certified by its inclusion in the title of the “Dow Jones Sustainability Index World” and in the “Dow Jones Sustainability Index Europe”, the financial indices managed by Dow Jones Indexes and by SAM (Swiss investment boutique specializing in sustainable investments), which move about 8 billion dollars.

According to the data of the Dow Jones-SAM index, the Intesa Sanpaolo Group ranks among the 342 world companies most active in social and environmental sustainability.

Every year, SAM invites around 2.500 companies (the largest in the world), divided into 57 sectors, to answer an in-depth questionnaire on their activities in three thematic areas: economic, environmental and social.

As regards the banking sector, economic dimension includes, among others, corporate governance, anti-corruption policies, customer relations, risk management, stakeholder engagement; there environmental dimension it concerns in particular products and services for environmental protection, the assessment of environmental and social risks in the granting of loans, the ecological footprint and the environmental balance; there social dimension includes initiatives on financial inclusion, for the development of people, in favor of health and well-being, philanthropy.

In all activities Intesa Sanpaolo received a score well above the average, as proof of the seriousness and concreteness of its achievements.
