FS Group brings Frecciarossa to Spain: today maiden voyage from Madrid to Valencia

Da Madrid to Valencia. The maiden voyage of iryō, the company owned by Trenitalia – leader of the Polo Passeggeri del FS Group - in Spain. The trip, made with a Frecciarossa 1000 with destination Valencia, anticipated by a few days the first commercial connection which will be activated on 25 November with the first trips Madrid-Zaragoza-Barcelona.

On board the train for the maiden voyage there were Rachel Sanchez, Minister of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda of the Spanish government, María Luisa Domínguez, president of Adif, the manager of the Iberian railway infrastructure; Carlo Palasciano Villamagna, chief international officer and chief transformation officer of the FS Group, Fabrizio Favara, chief strategy officer of the FS Group; Louis Corradi, CEO of Trenitalia, Carlos Bertomeu and Simone Gorini, respectively president and CEO of iryo, as well as representatives of the Italian Embassy, ​​the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Spain and the Spanish business world. Upon arrival at Joaquin Sorolla station, at 12:10, the delegation was received by Ximo Puig, President of the Generalitat of Valencia.

The new connections in Spain

The first races will be activated on November 25th Madrid-Zaragoza-Barcelonto. Further connections between Madrid, Valencia and Cuenca. 

From 31 March 2023, however, iryō will activate the links between Seville, Malaga, Antequera and Córdoba and next June 2 will also reach Alicante and Albacete thanks to 20 Frecciarossa 1000.
