Grillo denies his support for an interim government, but the hypothesis of a Cancellieri government is gaining ground

Faced with the jungle of vetoes and counter-vetoes, the hypothesis of a caretaker government with the task of carrying out electoral reform before returning to the vote is gaining ground and the most popular name for its leadership is that of the current Minister of the Interior , Anna Maria cancellieri – Saccomanni in pole position for the Ministry of Economy.

Grillo denies his support for an interim government, but the hypothesis of a Cancellieri government is gaining ground

Il Movement 5 Stars he is adopting the bad habits of Silvio Berlusconi and many politicians of the Second Republic more and more every day: first he says something and shortly after he denies it, placing all the blame on journalists, who generally don't shine for their wit, but who aren't all stupid. Yesterday Grillo's Movement hinted at its willingness to vote in favor of a government not made up of parties, but only of more or less independent technicians, but today it has already taken it all back.

Despite this, from the jungle of vetoes and counter-vetoes, the hypothesis of a caretaker government is making great strides. But who would be the guide? TO Monti no, because Berlusconi doesn't want it. TO It will pass? Difficult to give the presidency of the Council to a former banker. So? The most neutral hypothesis and which could gather the adhesions of Pd, Pdl and Center is that of the current Minister of the Interior, Anna Maria Cancellieri.

A former prefect – she left excellent memories in Bologna after taking over the administration in the aftermath of the Delbono junta crisis -, Cancellieri would be the first woman to become prime minister. But she, above all, could have the competence and sensitivity necessary to favor the achievement of a political agreement for the reform of the Porcellum and lead the country to new elections immediately afterwards.

Instead, it would be less understandable to draw on the Bank of Italy for government leadership. It is true that it will take at least six months to reform the Porcellum and that in an economic situation as serious as the current one, ordinary administration is not enough, but the economy will not be the first point on the agenda of the new Executive.

This does not mean that there is no need for an Economy Minister who is able to reassure the financial markets and international institutions and it is not excluded that the Bank of Italy can help with the availability of one of its top executives. In this sense, if a caretaker government were to be reborn, supported by Pd, Pdl and Centro, the name of the current director general of Via Nazionale, Fabrizio Saccomanniis the most popular.
