Green IT, an Italian joint venture established in 2021 by Eni (through Plenitude) and Cdp Equity, has signed a agreement with Hive Energy Limited e Sun Leonard Energy Limited to develop four photovoltaic projects. These plants, which will exploit renewable sources, will have a total capacity that can reach 200 MW.
Plants in Puglia, Lazio and Sicily
The plants they will arise in Puglia, Sicily and Lazio and will be made by adopting the agrivoltaic technology. This approach involves the installation of elevated structures that allow agriculture and renewable energy production to be combined, creating a beneficial synergy between the two activities.
GreenIT plans to obtain the necessary permissions and start the operational phase of the plants in the period indicated in Industrial Plan 2023-2027, approved last April. The plan provides total investments of 1,7 billion euros, including capital already committed, in order to reach an installed capacity of 1.000 MW.
Satisfy the consumption of about 150.000 families
Once in operation, it is estimated that agri-voltaic parks will be able to satisfy the consumption of about 150.000 families. This will contribute to the decarbonisation objectives established in the Integrated National Plan for Energy and Climate 2030.
GreenIT's strategy includes its commitment to development and in construction di greenfield plants both offshore and onshore. Furthermore, it also deals with the implementation of already authorized projects and the repowering of existing plants that have reached the end of their useful life. The goal is to extend and enhance the production capacity of these plants in order to encourage the production of energy from renewable sources.
What is Green IT
GreenIT is one j established in 2021 with the Participation di Fullness (Eni) 51% e Cdp Equity at 49%. The main objective of the JV is to develop, build and manage plants for the production of energy from renewable sources in Italy. The creation of this new company is part of a broader strategy to support the country's energy transition by increasing the production of renewable energy. The initiative is in line with the objectives established by the Integrated National Plan for Energy and Climate 2030.
