Compulsory green pass for employees: new tightening in France

In France, employees working in facilities open to the public must have the green pass. Two days after the entry into force in Italy of the new rules on green certification for transport, schools and universities, in France the umpteenth squeeze is triggered involving dozens of sectors and thousands of workers. The aim is to curb the fourth wave of infections. On August 29, France recorded 13.630 new cases of Covid-19 and 53 deaths. Based on the latest data, 58,1% of the population has completed the entire vaccination cycle, while 71,6% of citizens have received at least one dose.

According to the provisions of the Paris Government, to work in certain sectors in contact with the public it will be mandatory to possess a complete vaccination certificate (double dose of Pfizer, Moderna and Astrazeneca or only one for the Johnson & Johnson vaccine), a negative test of less than 72 hours or a certificate of recovery from Covid-19.

Le new rules are valid for employees of:

  • rooms for hearings, conferences, screenings and meetings;
  • salt forr concerts and shows, cinema, museums and festivals;
  • indoor sports facilities;
  • conservatories, when they welcome spectators, and other places of artistic education;
  • amusement arcades, animal parks, amusement parks and circuses, fairs and exhibitions, libraries.

Green pass obligation also for employees of ships and cruise ships, discos, clubs, bars and restaurants, corporate restaurants, take-away outlets and roadside restaurants, as well as room and breakfast services in hotels.

Finally, the green certification will be mandatory for those who work in the transport long-distance (trains, airlines, interregional buses) and in large shopping centers of over 20.000 m2.

We remember that in Italy from 1st September the green pass will be mandatory in order to take a train (high speed, intercity, interregional), board long-distance ships and ferries, take a plane. Furthermore, from the same date, in addition to healthcare personnel, it will be mandatory to possess the green pass also for operators and teachers of schools and universities.
