Greco: Generali will remain in the Pirelli shareholders' agreement only if reduced to one year

Generali will remain in the Pirelli shareholders' agreement, in which it holds 4,41%, only if its duration is reduced to one year. “We are in favor of staying for another year if the pact is shortened. Otherwise we will go out”, said the CEO of the Trieste group, Mario Greco, after presenting the new strategic plan in London.

“I still think it will be shortened to one year – added Greco -. I am very positive about Pirelli and I believe we will hold the title for another year and then review the situation at another time. We think that the Pirelli company has interesting prospects”. Tomorrow is the deadline for communicating any cancellations from the Pirelli agreement.

As for Rcs, “I have no knowledge of a capital increase – said Generali's CEO -. If necessary, we will participate if the operation has interesting conditions”. Leo has 3,7% of Rcs, a share on which "we are bound by an agreement - concluded Greco -, when it opens up we will evaluate the situation and carry out the appropriate operations".

Meanwhile, at the beginning of the afternoon, Generali's stock continues to sink lower and lower, slipping by more than three points. The fall of the Lion dragged Piazza Affari downwards, which turned red by about half a point.
