Greece, Tsipras: "It is impossible to pay debt without aid"

Without financial aid from the European Union the Greece will be unable to honor the next due dates of its own debt. According to reports from the Financial Times, it is the Greek prime minister Alexis Tsipras, in a letter sent to German Chancellor Angela Merkel on March 15th.

“Either Europe gives us short-term financial assistance – reads the text – or it will be impossible for Greece to meet its debts without skipping the payment of salaries and pensions at the end of the month”.

For the Greek prime minister, we must not "allow a small cash issue and a sort of institutional inertia within the Eurozone to turn into a major problem for Greece and for Europe".

A bilateral meeting between Tsipras and Merkel will be held tonight in Berlin.
