Greece, Tsipras rejects the creditors' proposals as "inadmissible" and the crisis becomes more complicated

The Greek case becomes more complicated – Prime Minister Tsipras has branded the creditors' proposals as “inadmissible” – the IMF and the ECB consider the postponement of payments due from Athens to the end of the month a bad sign.

Greece, Tsipras rejects the creditors' proposals as "inadmissible" and the crisis becomes more complicated

The Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras he declared yesterday in Parliament that the proposals of international creditors are "unrealistic", adding that the goal of any agreement should be "a solution and not humiliate an entire people". According to the Syriza leader, who says he does not want to discuss pension cuts or VAT increases on electricity, the only "realistic basis for discussion" is the Greek proposal. Negotiations with creditors have reached "a crucial turning point", continued the Greek prime minister, saying he is certain that we are "closer than ever to a solution".

Tsipras, reports the Greek press agency Ana, said it “unpleasantly surprised” from the proposals presented by the President of the European Commission Jean Claude Juncker. Speaking in Parliament to inform deputies of the ongoing negotiations with international creditors, the prime minister listed the six points of the government's strategy: 1) reduction of the primary surplus 2) debt restructuring 3) protection of salaries and pensions 4) redistribution of income in favor of the majority of society 5) reinstatement of collective bargaining 6) an investment programme.
