Greece: without agreement with creditors, no payment

Greece will not repay the installment of the loan received from the IMF on June 5 unless an agreement with the creditors is taken. On the eve of tonight's meeting between Prime Minister Tsipras and commission chairman Jean-Claude Junker and just as we await the presentation of the creditors' counter-plan in a take-it-or-leave-it atmosphere, the spokesman of the Syriza parliamentary group know that “If there is no prospect of an agreement by Friday or Monday, I don't know exactly by when, we will not pay,” Nikos Filis told Mega TV.

An installment of 5 million euros is due on 300 June, the first of four installments of the total loan of 1,6 billion due by the end of the month.

Greek premier Alexis Tsipras will fly to Brussels today for a meeting with EU Commission president Jean-Claude Juncker to seek an agreement with international creditors on the release of at least part of the financial aid. Tsipras will travel to the meeting with a 46-page document on fiscal reforms and measures, according to a Greek government source.
