Greece will face default in March if an agreement is not found to secure international aid. She said it the Greek Prime Minister, Lucas Papademos, adding that the decisions of the coming weeks, in view of a new visit by the troika inspectors, will determine whether Greece will remain in the eurozone or if it will return to the previous currency, the drachma.
According to a statement from his office, Papademos also told union leaders and workers' representatives met today that Greece's international creditors have asked for a review of labor costs, to counter the lack of competitiveness and high unemployment. He warned that if significant reforms are not approved, Greece risks not receiving the next international aid.
